Going Over The Many L's I Took This Week

Screen Shot 2016-10-14 at 11.36.21 AM

Needless to say, it wasn’t the best week for your boy Nate. Losses on losses on losses piling up as high as Mikey Flash’s hair (RIP). But hey, that’s the price you pay for being a blogger. You win some, you lose some. I do a lot more of the losing, so might as well review them to find out just how bad of a week it was.

MONDAY – Twitter Takes a Plunge

The week started off innocently enough. Nothing crazy. Just a little stuck plummet, but whatever, that’s normal. I bought TWTR at 39. It was flying high, way up there at 25. They were about to be bought, and everything was going to be great. And then it all fell apart. Every major investor backed out. They had their highest tweeted day of all time, and shares crumbled. But whatever, at least my new show was launching the next day, everything would be fine.

TUESDAY – The Nats lose and the launch of Nate at Night

The most anticipated Facebook Live show of all time arrived! Fresh off a Nats loss to force a decisive game 5, Nate at Night was going to launch at 11:30 that night. Butttt nope. The Cubs game ran long, pushing the start back to after midnight. The show itself started shaky, but the interview with JVR was solid and then after Dave tried to hijack it I went off on him. Pretty solid start for a growing #franchise, right?

Wednesday – Nate at Night cancelled

I’m almost positive Dave was going to cancel it regardless of what happened. No show is perfect the first time (or in his case, the 100th time). But I was building it and he said nope, you’ll either do your show my way, or there is no show. He said it doesn’t matter if a million people like it, if he doesn’t like it, there is no show. So I said sure, I’ll work on it, I talked with KFC and discussed how to make it better, and Dave still said it’s cancelled. Weird. He also yelled at the entire office about how people shouldn’t be intimidated by him while going out of his way to intimidate people, right after saying people shouldn’t be scared to try new things right after cancelling my show for trying new things. #BestBoss #ToTheMoon #BillionDollarCompany

Thursday – The Rundown and Nats Lose Again

I really need to work on my posture. I think eating pizza every day for the last 2 months has absolutely killed my body way more than I could ever had imagined. My foot is falling off, I’m melting into a chair, it’s not looking good. The Rundown itself went pretty well, but I look overwhelmingly unhealthy. Things to work on- eating salads, lifting weights, re-attaching foot to ankle.

And then last night, the Nats lost yet another elimination game for DC sports.

What can you do at this point? I saw it coming from 10 miles away. At least the Oak and Cokes and Oak and Oaks and Cokes were there.

FRIDAY – Now we wait…

Sure I was on my way into the office when we were emailed that the Internet there was down, but that’s kind of par for the course for a multi-million dollar internet company, so I’m not even going to count that. I’m positive something bad will happen tonight. Just waiting for it, Final Destination style. What will it be? Will I get hit by a car on the walk to Chipotle? My grandma has been sick, is today the day? Or even worse, will I be told I need to spend an extended amount of time with Smitty? I have no idea, but I’m just waiting for that shoe to fall.

But at the end of the day, I’m glad it happens to me and not you. I’ll take the L’s. At least I still have my health! Orrrr….something. As they say, we’re on to next week.
