Zach Britton's "Game Used" Jersey From The 2016 AL Wild Card Game Is Up For Auction

This is just cruel, unusual punishment by the Baltimore Orioles here. I might have to throw in a bid on this and give it to RDT as a Christmas present this year. As of right now, the bidding is up to $700 to own Zach Britton’s “game used” jersey from the 2016 American League Wild Card game in Toronto. If you somehow are unaware of the reason as to why there are quotes around “game used” here, it’s because Britton is the Orioles’ best pitcher — the best reliever in the league, actually — and he didn’t throw a single pitch in that game.

Instead, O’s manager Buck Showalter went with Ubaldo Jimenez in the bottom of the 11th, who had a 5.44 ERA during the regular season, and went on to face three batters, gave up three hits, with the final hit being a three-run bomb by Edwin Encarnacion that ended Baltimore’s season. The GOOD news is, you can commemorate this moment by owning the not-so-much-game-used jersey of Zach Britton, who will likely finish somewhere in the top 5 for the American League Cy Young award this year! I wonder if there are MLB authenticated splinters where the jersey hung down over Britton’s ass. Where else are you going to find a postseason jersey of a player coming off a historical regular season that’s game-used and in mint condition at the same time? BID NOW!
