How About Russell Westbrook Being Listed As The Clear Favorite To Win The 2016-17 NBA MVP?
Gotta say this blew me away when I first saw it. I mean Steph Curry is clearly going to take a hit next season for being a unanimous MVP that allowed his team to blow a 3-1 lead in the finals (h/t to Draymond Green’s dick punching hand). As well as Kevin Durant and the rest of the Warriors potentially splitting some of the votes. But LeBron is still in the weak Eastern Conference and the media will be dying to make amends for not sucking his dick enough before he carried the Cavs to the championship. Add in that Kawhi will likely be the best players on another great Spurs team, as well as the Clippers, Celtics, and T’Wolves all likely being much improved, not to mention Anthony Davis coming back from injury, Boogie Cousins (hopefully if there is a God) being traded to a contender, or Carmelo Anthony potentially listening to me and changing his number to 15 (I won’t even bother working myself into a Godzingis MVP lather until Year 3. I know how the MVP voters think).
And don’t get me wrong, I love Russell Westbrook. That run of triple doubles he had when KD got hurt two years ago was epic. And he showed huuuuge balls by re-signing with the Thunder before the season while also dressing like an asshole whenever he wants.
Oh yeah, and that time he continued to play after breaking his fucking face?!?! Legendary.
I still can’t believe him and Steph Curry are both listed as 6’3. Russ always played like a 6’7″ guy, and that was before Durant took his talents to The Bay. So of course I can see Russ going into Fuck You Mode for an entire season, or until his body gives out, and leads the Thunder to a better record than expected. I just didn’t think Vegas would put him as the clear favorite for MVP. But since they did, I am excited as fuck about it. Because that dude is an absolute monster when he is on.
P.S. Sometimes I even cut myself to see how much it bleeds. It’s like adrenaline, the pain is such a sudden rush for me.
