Justin Rose Wins First Olympic Golf Gold Medal In 112 Years

Golf - Olympics: Day 9

We have a winner! Rosie with a bird on the 72nd seals up the first Olympic golf gold medal since 1904. Rosie, the super British dude that was born in South Africa and always kicks our ass in the Ryder Cup. He pads his resume nicely, adding the gold medal to his 2013 US Open win at Merion.

And he did it all with that ugly ass shirt.

Stenson rolled in with the silver. He failed to birdie 18. Hell of a year though.. British Open win, T7 at the PGA, silver at the Olympics. Not too shabby. He’s come a long way since using a chick caddie.

Heroic American Matt Kuchar made a nice little Sunday charge for the bronze. Back-dooring a bronze medal is about the most Matt Kuchar thing of all time, but hey it’s good we’ll have the red white and blue up on the podium.

Kuch shot 63 and somehow did so with this vicious hat tan line.

Will be interesting to see how Olympic golf holds up going forward. This good of a finish definitely bodes well. If we had a snoozer, good chance Olympic golf would’ve been the old one and done. I expect to see these guys in Tokyo and I expect all the big boys will be there this time. Tiger might even limp out there for the honorary tee shot at that point.
