The Rock's Mystery Enemy On The Fast 8 Cast Is Of Course Vin Diesel And They Needed An Emergency Sitdown To Finish The Movie

Fast and Furious 5 - Premiere in Rio de Janeiro

PREVIOUSLY: The Rock Subtweeting Complaints About The Male Cast Members Of Fast 8 Is A Surprising Dick Move

TMZ – Production sources tell TMZ … when the Rock went nuts on social media Monday night, claiming certain male co-stars were not stand up guys and too “chicken s***” to confront him … he was referring to Vin.

We’re told The Rock has butted heads with Vin during the production, in part because V.D. is a producer and has made decisions that didn’t sit well with the former wrestling champ.

Our sources say The Rock and Vin had a meeting on the Atlanta set mid-day Tuesday … partly because tensions were running so high it was almost impossible to shoot scenes. We do not know if they resolved their issues.

Well I hope you all immediately placed bets based on my odds in that last blog since we’re paying out Vin Diesel as the guy on the Fast 8 set that drove The Rock so insane that he had to break out a vintage Livejournal post to vent about how emo it all made him. And obviously it’s not surprising; Vin Diesel has the stroke on the set, there’s some chemistry issues with the loss of the well-liked Paul Walker, and Vin’s protecting his tenured spot and probably generally being a shithead to prove he’s the alpha male of the room. Most of the guys there are just happy to be getting the giant mindless summer blockbuster paycheck so they don’t care, let Vin do what he wants. But for The Rock he’s got a similar look to Vin Diesel (even making that joke on Ballers a few weeks back), they’ve been butting heads on set for years, at some point with two alphaish dudes like that I guess you just hit your breaking point and need to air out. Some sort of empty room Rocky-Apollo Creed fight would be my personal choice for them to settle it but some version of saying “bro” angrily a lot and insincerely hugging it out at the end that they probably did will work just fine too.

For the record I’m still not ruling out that Scott Eastwood isn’t part of the problem here. In fact these “production sources” might be Scott Eastwood’s publicist trying to do a little misdirection to hide that he’s the locker room cancer there. This was probably his agent the second TMZ hit publish on their story:

We’re not all puppets in the game of Life where you drew the movie star career path, Eastwood. I’m onto your shit.
