Melania Trump Blatantly Jacks Michelle Obama's Speech As The Trump Circus Continues
NY Post – Melania Trump, who claimed to have written the speech herself, was talking about her experience growing up in Slovenia when she stumbled on a familiar line from Obama’s speech.
“From a young age my parents impressed on me the values that you work hard for what you want in life. That your word is your bond and you do what you say and keep your promise. That you treat people with respect,” Melania said.
Michelle Obama’s 2008 speech reads as follows:
“And Barack and I were raised with so many of the same values: that you work hard for what you want in life; that your word is your bond and you do what you say you’re going to do; that you treat people with dignity and respect.”
Melania continued to talk about passing these values on to future generations and again used nearly the exact same language as Obama
“We need to pass those lessons on to the many generations to follow because we want our children in this nation to know that the only limit to your achievements is the strength of your dreams and your willingness to work for them,” she said.
Michelle Obama’s speech once again:
“And Barack and I set out to build lives guided by these values, and to pass them on to the next generation. Because we want our children — and all children in this nation — to know that the only limit to the height of your achievements is the reach of your dreams and your willingness to work for them.”
Trump does it again! I think! I dunno! No such thing as bad publicity baby! Right? Melania rolled up on that stage wearing a goddam wedding dress:
She dropped a Rick Roll in the middle of “her” speech:
I was waiting for her to finish with “he’ll never turn around and desert you!”
And obviously she jacked Michelle word for word. The ultimate Re-Blog from Melania Trump. I’ll be perfectly honest I was sitting here all morning trying to come up with Trump’s angle. Because from every logical standpoint this of course looks bad. Maybe Trump wanted to show the world Melenia was First Lady material so what does he do? Have her copy Michelle verbatim. Trump’s people intentionally plagiarized in an effort to show the world how stale and recycled the political world can be and now he drops a statement about how he’s going to change the game? Trump didnt want people talking about how his wife has been here like a zillion years but still doesnt speak english so he had her spit those stolen lines to detract from that? I dunno I’m just talking out loud here trying to find the spin zone. Because there always is one for Donnie. Ultimately the fact of the matter is some speech writer was lazy or did it on purpose because at the end of the day, guess what?
None of this shit matters.
Donald Trump said he didnt like John McCain because McCain was captured during war. He said women who get abortions need to be punished. He thinks Mexicans are rapists. It hasnt slowed him down ONE IOTA. They havent even been bumps in the road. So if you think his hot ass wife recycling Michelle Obama’s cliches is going to be the downfall of his campaign you’re nuts. This will be internet fodder and Daily Show jokes and then this shit rolls on. Hillary may still end up in the White House but it aint because of Melenia Trump’s speech. I’m not saying there arent some undecideds out there saying “Jesus Christ these people really are fucking idiots” but I’m just saying this aint enough to derail the Teflon Trump Locomotive of Dont Give A Fuck.
PS – I cant believe there was some nerd ass journalist who remembered all of Michelle Obama’s generic cliches in her speech to the point that she thought to compare the two. The conspiracy theorist in me says this was all a set up. Just like the Taylor Swift thing.
