HuffPo – Justine McCabe, who reached 22 stone (308 pounds) at her heaviest, has been documenting her weight loss journey on Instagram.
Writing on her Tumblr, she explained that after her husband tragically took his own life last year, she turned to food as a way to cope.
But she soon realised that binge eating wasn’t helping her own mental health, and so decided to change her lifestyle, by overhauling her diet and hitting the gym.
To date, McCabe has lost 124 pounds.
I’m always a sucker for these feel-good stories of people overcoming something in an impressive way but this is honestly one of the most inspirational things I’ve seen in 2016. This woman’s husband killed himself, she got depressed and ate herself into a bad spot, then somehow snapped out of one of the worst possible spots you could be in as a human and somehow recovered into this:
That is mindblowing to me. Every time she kept looking a little skinnier I figured the video would end but nope, she just kept going until she’s legitimately a very in shape woman. Even if she were downing horse PEDs to get there I’d be impressed but to do it with just working out, dieting, and staying focused, that’s an unbelievable accomplishment in addition to really pushing the limits of the human body. A lot of the Instagram chicks like to post motivational quotes with pics of their yoga pants as if it’s an inspiration to be born kind of sexy with a great ass. But this girl actually has earned the right to preach with every caption she posts. I’d still prefer to see those other girls bent over with a Valencia filter but for motivational fitness thoughts and pictures, Justine is my chick from now on.
