Blink-182 Knocked Drake Out Of Number 1 on Billboard 200 Albums Chart
Billboard - After nine weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, Drake’s Views is dethroned from the top slot by Blink-182’s new set, California. The latter debuts at No. 1 with 186,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending July 7, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 172,000 were in traditional album sales — the third-largest sales week for a rock album in 2016. The new album was led by the single “Bored to Death,” which hit No. 1 on the Alternative Songs chart dated July 9, marking the act’s first No. 1 on the list since 2004.

Eyyyy, suck a dick, Drake! I need to know how it’s possible nobody in the last 9 weeks released an album that could sell more copies than Drake. Views was number 1 for 9 weeks. 9! That is far too many weeks. Did no other band or singer release a CD in May or June? That seems to be the logical explanation.
But regardless, leave it Blink-182 to knock that crippled Canadian right off his perch. California might not be my favorite CD I’ve ever heard, but it doesn’t suck either. There are some bangers, a couple duds, but all in all, it’s pretty decent. I’m not the biggest Matt Skiba guy, but he is super talented and it clearly shows on California. I have a feeling if you’re a big Alkaline Trio fan, you really enjoy this album. If Tom was the only reason you loved Blink to begin with, you probably hate it. I’m somewhere in between.
PS: Rabbit Hole might be my least favorite Blink 182 song of all time, and I still haven’t fully gotten over how much that song annoys me. It’s like Simmons yelling “FUCK” levels of annoyance to me.
