The Challenge Had A "Buried Alive Trivia" Episode Last Night And It Somehow Disappointed

A night that we do not sacrifice a team to the Crying Jordan Face God is a bad night

I have said it here countless times that the trivia episode of The Challenge is my favorite episode of every season (except when CT tries to eat someone’s face off). So you would think that if you made an entire episode centered around trivia while having all the girls of the house buried alive, we would be cooking with gas. Nope. Because instead of getting moments like this:

We had some Newlywed Game kind of trivia, with the winner being someone that spells “Bananas” and “Wes” like this:

And when someone like that wins, you have ridiculous deliberations like this:

Which led to Bananas just sitting back and admiring another masterpiece by the puppet master (to be fair, Bananas vs. Dario is like Mike Tyson vs. Glass Joe)

All Bananas does is win win win no matter what.

We also didn’t get an elimination yet again. But not having another Are You The One team weasel its way back into the house was a bonus.

Then again, we should have known this episode was going to be a letdown when it opened with Christina and Nate. Then again, Nate’s insight on how his dad treated him as a kid lets us know how he became the crybaby quitter we all see today.

But seriously, who says “Sports Competitions”?

But if someone like Nate can land a girl like this, God bless (whether you think Nicole is pretty or not is irrelevant, because you have to admit her makeup game is always on point).

If you want to hear more about last night’s episode, we delved deeper into our hatred of Nate, Dario’s brain, the many faces of Nicole, and how I would do in this type of Newlywed Trivia game against JJ in the latest No Quitters podcast. So check it out below and lets all hope that MTV has another trivia or spelling bee up its sleeve for us later this season.
