I love it. Why should 8 year olds get all the participation trophies? What, feelings don’t matter anymore when you’re in your 20s? And people wonder why we have a mental health crisis in this country, maybe it’s because we mock and laugh at everyone who gives themselves fake awards. So FSU got blown out in the Peach Bowl by Houston. So they didn’t actually earn any actual postseason trophies or jewelry. Why not make up some accolade instead like “State of Florida” champs for beating UF, USF and Miami? Last I checked 10-3 was pretty dang good, and if I’ve learned one thing, it’s that if you did a good job and tried your hardest, you get a shiny award.
