For all the big moments that David Ortiz has had over his career, all the home runs, the walk-off hits, the World Series titles, and the historic milestones — honestly, this is the kind of shit that I’m going to miss the most. Think about it for a second. Name another guy who can make you piss your pants when he steps into the batter’s box against you, who can also make you piss your pants laughing with how hilarious he is. You can’t. It’s almost the end of June, which means that we’ve got about three more months of David Ortiz promised to us. That thought hasn’t even crossed my mind, because I probably won’t even accept that he’s gone until five or six years from now. But I’m going to do my best to enjoy every last moment that we’ve got with one of the greatest players to ever wear a Red Sox jersey.
