And Just Like That, It Looks Like The Lightning Will Be Without Ben Bishop This Series
Pretty damn tough to watch Ben Bishop’s reaction after this. He seemed like a guy who knew that he was going to be out for a while and most likely the rest of this series. I don’t want to play doctor or anything but those non-contact injuries are always the worst and it’s crazy how shitty situations like that can completely alter a series. In just a blink of an eye, this is a completely different match up between the Pens and Bolts. Sure, Andrei Vasilevskiy is more than capable of filling the void for Bishop while he’s out but Ben Bishop has been one of the main reasons the Lightning have gotten this far already. Might even be the Conn Smythe guy if the Lightning end up winning the Cup. But now we’ll just have to wait and see what’s going on with him. The Bolts are already down Stamkos, they’re already down Stralman. Now they’re down Bishop and just before the end of the 1st period, they also lost Tyler Johnson (but that seemed to be more of a really bad charlie horse type of injury than anything). Tough night to be the trainer in Tampa, that’s for sure.
Help me Andrei Vasilevskiy, you’re my only hope.
