This Rundown That Turned Into A Walk-Off Was Simply Fantastic

I saw this tweet earlier this week, but I’m not sure when exactly this rundown happened. Anyway, it’s just utter chaos, with the absolute hammer of the video being when the third base coach took off for home with his player. Two Benny The Jets wouldn’t have been able to get out of that pickle better. Baseball at its best, even though Tom Emanski and Fred McGriff are rolling over in their graves because of the utter lack of fundamentals in that rundown. I don’t care if they are alive. Those two are doing summersaults six feet under.

And don’t even THINK about showing this video to Keith Hernandez. He would puke his guts out over the blatant lack of fundies. There is nothing that Keith loves more other than good fundies in the field. Well maybe a good glass of chardonnay or a perky pair of breasts. But good fundies is definitely in the Top 5.

And a walk-off rundown has to be the best way to end a game outside of a home run and maybe a steal of home, right? I saw the Mets win on an Endy Chavez walk-off suicide squeeze back in 2007 and even that doesn’t hold a candle to this. Going from a likely out to a walk-off with a bunch of craziness in between is flat-out incredible.
