Chris Johnson has the fastest 40-yard dash time in NFL combine history. But does his speed measure up to the world’s fastest animal? A television special set to air in November will provide the answer. The cheetah is the fastest land animal on Earth and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3 seconds. The Tennessee Titans running back and Chicago Bears wide receiver Devin Hester each took turns racing a cheetah for a Nat Geo Wild special titled “Man Vs. Cheetah” that will air during its “Big Cat Week,” TheWrap.com reported.

The races, which took place with a barrier between the men and the animal, have already taken place but results weren’t revealed by the website. “This is most incredible challenge I’ve ever faced,” Johnson told the website. “I wanted to go up against the fastest in the world and test myself, and this was it!” Geoff Daniels, executive vice president and general manager of Nat Geo Wild, said the the network “loved the idea of a face-off like no other between supreme athletes and an alpha predator.” Hester, the Bears‘ dangerous return man who holds the NFL record with 12 punt return touchdowns, said the idea of racing a Cheetah was an “unusual proposition.” “But it was something I was ready to take on to see if I could get an edge on,” Hester said. Johnson holds the NFL combine scouting record with his time of 4.24 seconds in the 40-yard dash in 2008. Cheetahs have been clocked running in the wild at over 70 miles per hour and can accelerate from 0 to 60 in just 3 seconds.

Fucking Hester. Last we saw him he was running the wrong routes, dropping balls with his dinner plate hands, and threatening to retire because the Bears fired Lovie. Basically the worst way you can end a season possible. And what does he go and do? He races a fucking Cheetah and TOTALLY REDEEMS himself. I love this. Anything with human vs animal in it and I’m 100% sold. Wrestle a bear, fight a lion, race a cheetah, suplex a shark, all of it. So yeah, I’m back on Team Hester, way to go Devin, just when you had everyone against you, you turned it around, enjoy it while it lasts because we all know there is a 0.0% chance you are able to learn Trestman’s playbook.

PS
Titans have to be pretty pumped the running back they gave all that money to and then had back to back subpar years is spending his offseason playing games with wild animals.
