In Honor Of #OneBostonDay, Here's Don Orsillo Calling Daniel Nava's Go Ahead Home Run

If you can watch that clip without tearing up then you’ve got a stronger heart than the guy writing this right here.

Unsurprisingly, this is also Orsillo’s favorite call of all time in a career of meaningful calls.

Just wanted to make sure we mentioned #OneBostonDay today, though. Crazy to realize that everything happened three years ago when it feels like yesterday. I vividly remember the text from our intern DeLo that said explosions at the finish line. I remember the chaos of that day, calling my parents and making sure they knew I was fine. I remember walking out of the movies days later, checking Twitter, and realizing that a manhunt was on. I can honestly still feel the air of that evening, it all feels like it just happened.

But somehow, three years have passed since those blasts went off and clouded Boston with one of the most harrowing days in its history. As always follows tragedy, everyone banded together. But, and you can call me a homer here, Boston did it better. Just shut the place down until we found who was responsible. Since then, this entire city has always done such an incredible job supporting the victims, honoring those lost, and sticking together. There’s no city like Boston. No one that looks after its own like we do.

RIP to Martin Richard, Sean Collier, Krystle Campbell, Lu Lingz and all the victims and families of victims. B

Also, here’s Dave’s sitdown with Marc Fucarile. A nice way to sitdown and remember just how much some people have had to overcome.
