Philadelphia Spinners At The Buzzer As Philly Sports Continue To Dominate

Let’s do ourselves all a favor real quick and think about everything that has happened in Philly sports since last Monday. For starters, Villanova won the National Championship off this buzzer-beater from Kris Jenkins.

Then, against all odds, the Philadelphia Flyers managed to punch their ticket to the Stanley Cup Playoffs over the weekend despite a few stumbles earlier in the week. After their win against Pittsburgh on Saturday, the Flyers bumped the Boston Bruins out of playoff contention. And then to dig the knife even deeper into the city of Boston’s back and even give it a little twist or two, the Philadelphia Spinners pulled off this ridiculous buzzer-beater against the Boston Whitecaps in a little Major League Ultimate action. Now I know what you’re thinking right now, “hey Jordie. Why don’t you go ahead and fuck yourself. It’s Major League Ultimate, who gives a shit?” And typically I’d be inclined to agree with you except for the fact that Philly sports have been on a goddamn tear over the last 8 days and since the entire city has sucked as a whole for the past 2 years, I’m going to bask in the glory right now. So sit down, shut up, and enjoy the Spinners doing Spinner things.

I’ll tell you what, man. This team embodies the spirit of Philadelphia. It’s that never give up attitude that keeps people coming back for more Spinners action year after year. Sure, they could have just ended the half with the lead they had at the moment but that’s some weak ass shit that doesn’t fly when you play for THE Philadelphia Spinners. They play every series like it’s their last so they march down the field, get a little help from a Jeter-esque jump throw, keep their eye on the disc and make a snag that would have NFL officials’ head spinning having no idea if it were a catch or not. Major League Ultimate. First they get all the chicks, then they get all the highlights.

Suck on it, haters.
