Kmarko's NBA DraftKings Picks - March 18th

kmarkoNBA

Welcome back to the daily DraftKings picks where we try to get super rich playing daily fantasy basketball. As usual I’ll do a brief recap of my lineups from the week before then throw out some picks that I’m brainstorming for this weekend, and hopefully get some good feedback/tips/picks from you guys either in the comment section or on Twitter @kmarkobarstool.

Not a bad night.

Blog picks (circled above): Wall and Lance great, Brook, holy shit did he suck. Officially done with Brook Lopez. Sorry about that one, folks, that’s on me.

Got yet another great 8 game slate tonight so let’s throw some lineups in then get back to March Madness.

PG Russ Westbrook $10.5K

I’m sure people will be worried about the blowout risk, and I hope they are, to keep the ownership low. According to the numbers Russ doesn’t actually lose out on any fantasy points or lose much time in blowout games – his usage rate is still insane and he still always hits value. I’m pretty sure he’s going to put up a triple double in the first 2.5 quarters tonight, but if he doesn’t end up with one even by the end of the game I’d be shocked. All in on Russ tonight.

SG DeMar Derozan $7.6K

As of writing this the news hasn’t officially been announced yet, by Kyle Lowry is expected to sit out (they said he would be rested either Thursday or Friday, and he played last night, so do the math). With Lowry out, Derozan’s usage rate goes through the roof, and he’s dropped a couple of 50 and 60+ point games recently. It’s not an ideal matchup against Avery Bradley but the Celtics play up in pace and honestly who else is going to score the Raptors’ points. Love him at this price with nice upside.

*If the coach just blatantly lied and Lowry does play, I’ll move off him and use one of the guys listed below.

C Enes Kanter $5.2K

I never like recommending a bench player and I have a bad feeling about this even as I type it but the numbers don’t lie. Kanter has a streak of 30+ point games, his minutes are steadily going up, and he has a dream matchup against the Sixers. He SHOULD get plenty of run in this one and have no problem dropping a nice double double, but there’s definitely a risk here – which is why it’s a tournament play and not cash. Just think with 50%+ of the field flocking to Biyombo you need to switch things up a little bit to differentiate, and Kanter looks like he’s in a great spot to do it. GPP special.

Other plays…

PG- I love Russ but if you want to go cheaper I think Lillard is the place to do it. Rubio is in a great spot to do some damage, and Russell would be if you could feel good about his recent minutes dip. Darren Collison is a good cheap option and Tim Frazier is a nice punt play.

SG- Love this spot for Harden – I’d love to try and double up him and Westbrook in a lineup somehow. Wiggins/LaVine should be about hit good value, and I like KCP a lot too.

SF- Tough position tonight if you don’t want to spend on Durant or Lebron. I’d probably feel best about Tobias Harris – Chandler Parsons is worth a look too. And Super Cool Beas if you have the stones for it.

PF- I don’t know if I love the spot for Boogie – I do love it for Brow though. And I will be getting a lot of Dieng and Randle in my lineups.

C- Biyombo is the chalk here and if Jonas is out again you gotta imagine he’ll be crazy high owned. Still a great play and helps you save up everywhere else. If you’re paying up I like Towns and Dwight Howard.

That’s it for me, good luck tonight. Tweet me @kmarkobarstool with your picks or to talk shit, whatever. Also if you’re depositing to play make sure to use my referral and we’ll both get hooked up with some stuff.

Also got a pretty sweet tool for everyone to check out. RotoGrinders is the main site I’ve been using for the past year for matchup charts and expert analysis (real experts, not bloggers doing this in their free time), and they have an app now that pushes all NBA injury news directly to your phone the second it hits the wire. So if you’re like me and keep getting screwed by last minute scratches because you didn’t check Twitter in time, or if you want to get a leg up in tournaments by grabbing late breaking value plays, I highly recommend it.

Oh, and it’s free.
