The Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament Starts Today Which Means One Thing Only; Hair

Jordie’s Disclaimer: The 2016 video hasn’t been released yet. These are just some throwbacks. So just in case you’re Dave and you’re reading this (not sure if Pres knows who I am yet), please don’t fire me.

Ah yes. It’s the most wonderful time of the year. The 2015-16 Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament kicks off tonight at Xcel Energy Center. The time of the year that we get to see some of the best high school hockey in the nation and some of the best hockey hair in general. We already saw Stillwater Area High punch their ticket to the tournament over the weekend with this ridiculous goal in overtime.

Stillwater is the 2 seed in this year’s AA tournament and they’ll have Farmington tomorrow. Stillwater is 26-1-1 on the year and obviously riding high after that win Friday night. The #1 seed in the AA bracket is Eden Prairie High, not to be mixed up with Eden Hall Academy from Mighty Ducks D3. Neither of the champions from last year (Lakeville North AA, East Grand Forks A) made the cut so we won’t be having any bids for a repeat. But while there will be new champions crowned this year, the hair will most likely remain the same. Absolutely golden and spectacular. Feathered and lethal. Flowing and cascading. Just all around perfection. There are very few sporting event atmospheres as underrated as a high school hockey game, and the Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament is the best of the best. Not sure of any front runners to crack the video this year, but you can obviously expect the 2016 video to be blogged as soon as it’s posted. For now, treat yourself to some throwbacks.
