Kmarko's NBA DraftKings Picks - February 19th

kmarkoNBA

Welcome back to the daily DraftKings picks where we try to get super rich playing daily fantasy basketball. As usual I’ll do a brief recap of my lineups from the week before then throw out some picks that I’m brainstorming for this weekend, and hopefully get some good feedback/tips/picks from you guys either in the comment section or on Twitter @kmarkobarstool.

Pretty brutal on our first night back.

But it was a tough, 3 game only slate. Only got 84 points out of the 3 blog picks which is pretty brutal – DeAndre barely hit value, while Kyrie and Danny Green bombed.

Thank God we’re back to a normal full slate tonight, let’s try and knock down the best plays. Three guys from the three price tiers, as per usual.

PG Steph Curry $10.8K

Lot of high price guys to pick from tonight for the top tier, and it’s tough skipping over Boogie who (it may be obvious by now) is my favorite DFS play on a nightly basis. But Steph is my guy. Great uptempo matchup in a late game, fresh off the All Star break probably looking to make a splash. Not going to try and talk anyone out of Russ or Cousins, but my gut is pointing me to Steph for top guy tonight.

PF Paul Millsap $7.8K

Millsap been frequently dropping 50 point games – Bosh and Whiteside are both out tonight, which means he’ll be going up against 55 year old Amare and some other bums. And that price is real, real nice. Love his spot tonight.

Edit: Could have sworn I saw the Horford-to-Toronto news as official. Oh well. Still going Millsap.

VALUE PLAY SG Evan Fournier $5.4K

After he was one of my favorite value plays at the beginning of the season, I kind of forgot about Fournier. Mostly because the Magic forgot about him. But he popped off 4 straight 30+ point games before the All Star Break, and played over 40 minutes in 3 in a row. Now Tobias is gone it (should) basically guarantee he keeps those minutes up, and has some more shots to work with. Of course that’s mostly in theory right now until we see what their actual new rotation is, but 5.4K is cheap enough for me to take the risk that it plays out that way.

Or, one of my personal favorites, Aaron Gordon. One of these guys will benefit a lot. Maybe both.

Other plays…

PG: Rondo might sneaky be my favorite PG of the night if you take price into account. Either him or Jrue. If I can’t afford Steph in my final lineups I’m perfectly happy with either of those guys, or both.

SG: I don’t know if it’s a Harden night for me, but he’s always a threat to drop 70. I like DWade and Will Barton the best here with price being considered. Batum is also looking at a ton of minutes with MKG done for the year.

SF: Melo gets the shitty Nets and a new coach leaning on his superstar. Kevin Durant has been great lately but feels too risky to only put up 35-40 at his massive price. Mirza and Matt Barnes are two good value options due to their lineup shakeups.

PF: Man I love Boogie tonight. Boogie and Millsap will have most of my attention. But Z-Bo and Thad are some good mid range options, and Amare is worth a look as a punt. As is Bobby Portis if you trust his minutes.

C: Lot of good centers tonight. Think I like Drummond or Vuc the best, with Dwight, Monroe and Gobert all in good spots. If you’re going cheaper, Robin Lopez and Alex Len could be worth a look.

That’s it for me, good luck tonight. Tweet me @kmarkobarstool with your picks or to talk shit, whatever. Also if you’re depositing to play make sure to use my referral and we’ll both get hooked up with some stuff.

Also got a pretty sweet tool for everyone to check out. RotoGrinders is the main site I’ve been using for the past year for matchup charts and expert analysis (real experts, not bloggers doing this in their free time), and they have an app now that pushes all NBA injury news directly to your phone the second it hits the wire. So if you’re like me and keep getting screwed by last minute scratches because you didn’t check Twitter in time, or if you want to get a leg up in tournaments by grabbing late breaking value plays, I highly recommend it.

Oh, and it’s free.
