Running- The Elkmont Half-Marathon (Trackless Train Trek) in Elkmont, Ala. had a celebrity finisher over the weekend finishing in the top-10 (unofficially) and in a time just over 1:30 for the half-marathon. Ludivine, a hound, ran the half-marathon in 1:32:56 finishing seventh. She ran the entire race off-leash managing to find her way to the start line before doing the entire race on her own. Ludivine is owned by April Hamlin and was named after a French character in the Russell Crowe movie A Good Year. She’s a two-and-a-half year-old bloodhound. We’re just hoping that each restroom along the course was accompanied by a healthy patch of grass or a fire hydrant for the sake of the canine.

Casual.  Super casual.  Ludivine the bloodhound stepped out for a quick second to take a piss, found himself in the middle of a half marathon and wound up in the top 10. Classic dogs.  Just going with the flow. No objections.  No hassle. Not the least bit difficult. Always and forever down to do whatever everybody else is doing. “Or we’re running a half marathon?  I mean I got this new bone I was gonna chew on for a few hours and then take my 4th nap of the day but fuck it, let’s do this.”  7th place!  How shitty do the people who finished after the dog feel?  They’ve probably been training for months and months and months only to lose to a participant who didn’t even know he was a participant. Then again, they got beat by a dog and nobody can hate a dog so it’s probably all good. Not sure why they said Ludivine finished in the top-10 “unofficially”  Sounds pretty official to me. He ran just like everybody else. Can’t discriminate because he’s a dog.  It’s called equal rights.
