Former NHLer Linus Omark Lights His Stick On Fire At KHL Skills Competition
When you’re Linus Omark, it’s kind of difficult to get original anymore in the shootout. He is the Wayne Gretzky of breakaways, just not so great at other aspects of the game which explains why he’s playing in the KHL. Now obviously this would be infinity times cooler if he was able to score on at least one of those tries, but you gotta give the guy credit for at least coming up with something that he hasn’t done before. Plus, I can’t imagine it’s very easy to pull any Datsyuk-ian type of moves with this tape job.
Omark still won the breakaway contest because he’s the king. Here’s exhibits A, B, C and D real quick.
As for the KHL All Star Game itself, well it’s a shit show. The first period just ended and it’s already 10-6. You can watch it live HERE and I think that if there’s one thing you can take away from this game, it’s that the NHL moving to the 3-on-3 format is going to be the best decision they ever made. Because this 5-on-5 bullshit is a snoozefest. Am very interested in seeing more of duckface here though.
