Kmarko's NBA DraftKings Picks - January 5
Welcome back to the daily DraftKings picks where we try to get super rich playing daily fantasy basketball. As usual I’ll do a brief recap of my lineups from the week before then throw out some picks that I’m brainstorming for this weekend, and hopefully get some good feedback/tips/picks from you guys either in the comment section or on Twitter @kmarkobarstool.
Took the last week of 2015 off to clear my head, and I gotta say, I’m feeling refreshed and ready to roll for the new year. Got a whole new positive outlook and got a good feeling we’re going to have a nice profitable 2016. Bankroll is still sitting pretty solid from baseball and football season, so the hits from the NBA lately haven’t broken my spirit.
PF Boogie Cousins $10K
So I’ve pretty much stopped paying up for the $10K+ superstars on big slate nights, been focusing more on balancing out my lineups. But with 4 games tonight we don’t really have much of a choice so I will be gladly spending up for Demarcus at 10K. Draymond Green has been insanely hot with 3 straight triple doubles and it’s not like I’m saying don’t play him, but I just love playing Boogie in tournaments. You never know when he’s going to get thrown out of the game in the first quarter, or explode for 75 points. It’s living on the edge like that that makes you feel alive.
SG Jimmy Butler $8K
The past two times I’ve featured Jimmy Buckets he’s kind of burned me, but this time I reallllyyyy mean it – love his upside tonight. Fresh off dropping 40 real life points in ONE half, I think now is as good a time as ever for him to return to last year’s form, when he was putting up 50-60 fantasy points a night with some insane lines. He clearly wants to be the top dog on this team, he’s clearly the most talented, and he clearly gets plentttyyyy of minutes to pay off 5 or 6x his salary.
Also, SG is pretty brutal tonight.
PG Jordan Clarkson $5.4K
Last I checked Kobe was questionable and leaning towards not playing tonight – I like Clarkson regardless of if he suits up or not, but if Kobe’s out, I’m locking him in to all my lineups for sure. The Lakers are real-life garbage, but provide plenty of fantasy goodness from Clarkson and Lou Williams. Even Larry Nance has been chipping in lately. The Lakers can lose by 50 for all I care, as long as J Clark is out there getting his shots up.
Other guys on my radar: Rondo is doubtful tonight, so fire up Darren Collison – I don’t know if he gives you great upside for tournaments, but starter’s minutes at that cheap is hard to come by. Deron Williams and Devin Harris are both questionable, so JJ Barea could be in line for another good one. At Center I probably have my eye on Al Horford or Zaza…I also love playing Kent Bazemore and Omri Casspi (if he’s back in the lineup).
