Plot Twist – The BU Concussion Study Says They Did Willingly Turn Down the Money From The NFL And That ESPN Are The Liars

Through the Sports and Health Research Program (SHRP) —a partnership among the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the National Football League (NFL), and the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health (FNIH)—multiple studies have been and will continue to be funded to examine traumatic brain injury in athletes. The NFL funding commitment to SHRP remains intact. NFL was willing to contribute to the Boston University CTE study headed by Dr. Stern. NIH made the decision to fund this study in its entirety and to issue a Request for Applications (RFA) early next year to support an additional study on CTE using funds from SHRP, which will double the support for research in this area.”

What a turn of events! So the NFL didn’t pull their funding? The NIH turned down 16 million just for the hell of it? So ESPN was totally and completely wrong. They just made up more lies? That Outside the Lines story was compete and total garbage?

Honestly I don’t know what the hell to believe? I’m spotting dimes eating onions over here. You got 2 of the slimiest, dirtiest, most corrupt organizations in the world doing battle here. ESPN and the NFL are both certified liars. It’s just surprising they aren’t on the same page per usual.  To be honest though this just feels like somebody got to the NIH.  Like Goodell has the wife of the lead researcher being held at gunpoint in the basement of NFL HQ’s. Either say you rejected the money or she dies. Seriously why would they ever turn down money unless the NFL made demands about how it would be used. Something stinks to high heavens here.
