Kmarko's NBA DraftKings Picks - December 21

kmarkoNBA

Welcome back to the daily DraftKings picks where we try to get super rich playing daily fantasy basketball. As usual I’ll do a brief recap of my lineups from the week before then throw out some picks that I’m brainstorming for this weekend, and hopefully get some good feedback/tips/picks from you guys either in the comment section or on Twitter @kmarkobarstool.

New week, new me. Ok probably the same me who keeps cashing every tournament at the exact minimum, getting my buy in back, then jumping right back into the next night with visions of dollar signs dancing in my head. Don’t worry, one of these nights I’m going to drop a 320 score on everyone’s head, trust me.

(No timetable on that so don’t hold your breath)

PG John Wall $9.5

Until Wall hits 10K I’m going to keep firing him up nightly. Not only was he hot to begin with, but now he’s got Beal out, Otto Porter banged up and questionable to play, the 90% of his frontcourt injured or battling injuries. That leaves one person to run the entire offense. Yes you guessed it, John Wall. Love the upside here with a legitimate shot at 60 the way he’s been playing lately. I’ll take 50 though, don’t want to be greedy.

PG Options: Isaiah Thomas, as always, is instantly one of my favorite plays of the night. Might pair him up with Wall since they refuse to raise his price to where he deserves it. I also love CP3 who has been as solid as it gets lately. For some cheaper options I like Jarrett Jack getting plenty of run with Larkin out, and Patrick Beverley is your cash game staple who you can basically pencil in for 20-25 points guaranteed every night.

SF Omri Casspi $6K

Omri Casspi for 6K??? Omri Casspi for 6K. Yes I know that’s not a price anyone wants to pay for a guy they’ve probably never heard of unless they’re a big Kings fan or a hardcore DFS player. But that’s exactly what makes him a tournament play. When a guy gets 38 minutes a game and puts up steady consistent production for 4.5K, everybody has him on their roster. When he creeps up to mid tier pricing and nobody actually trusts him that much, most people avoid him. Same thing that’s been happening with Jon Leuer – price rises, ownership drops, production stays the same. He’s obviously not the safest play but I like him for tournaments.

SF Options: I can’t see myself paying up for Durant or PG with the recent string of lackluster fantasy games – they can obviously explode at any moment though if you want to take the chance. The next tier down looks better to me – Melo, Batum, Hayward and Gay all have a good shot at exceeding value. Also got Tobias Harris and Kent Bazemore in pretty good spots.

SG Arron Afflalo $4.9K

Ok full disclosure I just wanted to put a Knick on here because I’m going to the game tonight and want something to root for. Melo burned me last time, Porzingis is too expensive for his inconsistency, so I’m left with a value play. Feels a little like chasing points but Afflalo has been hot, and it’s not like the Knicks have a ton of offensive weapons.

SG Options: Harden has been dragging a little bit – maybe the Dwight Howard stuff is in his head? Jimmy Butler has been in the news for the wrong reasons this week, look for him to come out and make a statement. Not a whole lot to like the middle tiers… Lillard and McCollum are both out tonight, which should open up some good minutes for Allen Crabbe. He doesn’t have much of a ceiling, but the price is right.

..

That’s it for me, good luck tonight. Tweet me @kmarkobarstool with your picks or to talk shit, whatever. Also if you’re depositing to play make sure to use my referral and we’ll both get hooked up with some stuff.
