Giants Circus Season All But Ends With A Loss In Miami Tonight

eli-and-tomThe NFC East has been a laughing stock all season long. Lately though, the Giants have been the laughing stock of the laughing stock. They’re 1-4 over their last 5 with a trio of choke jobs. They welcomed back one defensive end who blew his fingers off with fireworks & just dismissed another who was bullied for his Beats. Rueben Randle is crying about a lack of opportunities yet can barely catch a ball or finish a route. And leading the way is a coach born in the 1800’s & a window-licking QB. I love ‘em both, but that’s just the truth. With the Eagles & Skins both winning yesterday, the G-Men not only need a W to stall their comical free-fall but for their playoff lives too.
The Dolphins have had their fair share of failures between a coaching carousel, $100M+ Suh contract & Ryan Tannehill’s regression. Tannehill hasn’t completed 60% in his last 4 games but Big Blue has been torched by the likes of Cousins & Fitzpatrick at a 70% clip. You’d think the Fins would attack with ODB’s BFF Jarvis Landry but if last week is any indication, the plan under a new OC with one week of experience will be to ride Lamar Miller. That’d be doing the Giants a favor. On the flip side, Beckham’s gonna give a prime time effort on Monday night but the Giants gotta establish the run against one of the league’s worst rushing defenses. With Eli struggling, NY’s porous D has been on the field 20 minutes longer than the offense because they simply can’t sustain a drive. So forget about Andre Williams. Gimme Darkwa/Jennings, sprinkle in some Vereen screens & possess the football.
More than anything else, the Giants need to stay the fuck out of their own way. I’m not gonna act like they’re a great squad or talk about how they could be 10-2 right now – but it’s simply a fact that they are the only reason they’re not atop the worst division in football. It’s not over yet though. Odds are there will be opportunities tonight to put Miami away & stay alive. Whether it’s the coaching staff, Eli or the defense having to make a play – just don’t mess it up. ONE TIME. Shut the door & keep pace. You’re not supposed to break our hearts until Week 17 so let’s make sure we get that far.
