Kmarko's NBA DraftKings Picks - December 11

kmarkoNBA

Welcome back to the daily DraftKings picks where we try to get super rich playing daily fantasy basketball. As usual I’ll do a brief recap of my lineups from the week before then throw out some picks that I’m brainstorming for this weekend, and hopefully get some good feedback/tips/picks from you guys either in the comment section or on Twitter @kmarkobarstool.

Got a huge Friday slate of NBA action to take us into the weekend…and since it could be the last time I get to play, let’s just say the pressure is on. Time to see if I can finally break 300 and finally win a decent chunk of change in the NBA. After a very profitable baseball season and some big finishes in football so far, I’m breaking about dead even in hoops and can’t seem to bust out with a big time lineup.

Three picks for tonight along with some risk/reward tournament plays and some other brainstorming, let’s go.

PG John Wall $9.1K

With all the high priced superstars up on the board tonight, my top play is basically in the bargain bin. John Wall, coming off a 63 pointer, playing 40 minutes a game, getting a matchup with the Pelicans, who are giving up the most points to opposing point guards in all of fantasy. Sometimes it’s just that easy. Wall has been on fire, his knee is fine, and he’s an explosion waiting to happen. Might be a fade candidate for big tournaments, but I think he’s running too hot right now to stay away from at 9.1K.

If you do want to go more contrarian though, a couple options I like are Isaiah Thomas running and gunning with the Warriors and Reggie Jackson as a GPP-only play against Philly – he’s had some bad games lately, but he always has a shot to go off for 50.

C Marcin Gortat $6K

I don’t like going with 2 teammates as featured plays, but after I wrote up Wall I went down my list and realized my next favorite play was Gortat, so here we are. The guy has quietly been on fire the past week, putting up around 38 points on a night by night basis. The price hasn’t caught up yet, and with another great matchup on deck and a price wayyy down at 6K, I love firing him up again tonight.

If you love Wall too much and don’t want to team stack – Vucevic has been money and is still cheap, and Ja Okafor is a sneaky play now that he’s back from his suspension. Personally I like Towns again, but that’s just my own gut talking – or, if you want to risk it and go cheap, Dieng instead of Towns.

SG OJ Mayo $5.4K

I hate, hate, hate playing anybody from a Jason Kidd team in DFS. Shout out to everybody who started Bayless a few weeks ago the night he got the famous DNP-Coach’s Decision for NO announced reason, after starting the entire week beforehand. We still have no idea what the reason was. Hilarious. Unless you lost a ton of money on it, then not so funny. But the bottom line is Mayo is playing 36 minutes a game, running the offense, and getting up all the shots he can handle – plus chipping in a good amount of assists too. The price is creeping up and I wouldn’t love Mayo at anything over 6K, but 5.4 I can manage considering the opportunity.

For tournaments, I like taking a shot on Tyreke Evans – he’s coming off a 6 point dud which should scare people off, but his coach said they are “drawing up more plays for him” which is always music to my ears. I’ve been loving Will Barton lately, and if I need to save cash, I might consider KCP against the Sixers. If I’m spending up, Bledsoe should be in a for a good one in a high paced matchup with the Blazers…and on the other side, McCollum has been as solid as it gets.

..

That’s it for me, good luck tonight. Tweet me @kmarkobarstool with your picks or to talk shit, whatever. Also if you’re depositing to play make sure to use my referral and we’ll both get hooked up with some stuff.
