If You Like Football Last Night Was The Darkest Day In Recent Memory For You

Listen I understand that everybody hates the Patriots. That people wait years and years for the Patriots to lose a football game and when they do they finally pop their champagne bottles and act like it’s the Miracle on Ice. I understand all that.

BUT having said all that anybody who loves the game of football had to be appalled by what transpired last night. That’s not just me saying that as a Pats fan. Anybody with an unbiased opinion knows the Pats got screwed. That the refs handed Denver that game. I’m not saying Goodell did or didn’t do it on purpose, but this ticky tack bullshit is ruining the game. Refs are deciding outcomes rather than the players and it’s becoming an epidemic. In every other sport when it gets to crunch time the refs swallow their whistles. Not in football apparently.

I mean nobody on planet earth would have complained if the refs didn’t throw the flag on Gronk or Chung. Nobody. They weren’t obvious calls. They weren’t no brainers. They were the opposite. The instant reaction of everybody from the announcers, to Pats fans, to Broncos fans were like wait what did the refs just do? They were absolute non calls that 100% decided the game. It’s shameful and embarrassing. Let the players play. That’s what we pay money for. Nobody wants games decided like last night. I’m sure the team that finally beats us wants to know they earned it and it wasn’t gifted to them. Sure in the long run I think last night’s loss may actually benefit the Pats, but it’s still sad to see the undefeated season stolen from them by incompetent officials and it’s sad for football fans everywhere.
