Basically Every Single Team In The NFC Is Currently "In The Hunt" Which Means The Bears Are Technically In The Hunt
Well would you look at that, the Bears are officially “In The Hunt”. Damn it feels good to be a gangster. Now I know what you’re going to say, but Big Cat, that’s literally every single NFC team except for the Cowboys who were still “in the hunt” as late as 5 days ago and 49ers who were never in the hunt, and yes I agree. In the Hunt this year is a very very loose term that is all encompassing and borderline meaningless but we’re still there. It’s better to be in the hunt than not in the hunt, I can tell you that much.
I’ve been pretty realistic about the Bears all season long. I said after the 0-3 start they’re not as bad as people think they are and I said after the mini resurgence that there were still a lot of holes and winning close games against good teams would prove to be difficult but the point remains. It is the Monday after Thanksgiving, tomorrow is December 1st, and the Bears are still “in the hunt”. Never in a million years did I think that would have occurred this year but here we are. I’m not ruling out playoffs and I’m not ruling out finishing 6-10, but for a team that was picked to win 3 games in August it’s more than a pleasant surprise to actually look forward to some December football. In the hunt baby, that’s where were at.
PS
Seeing Henry Burris play Quarterback in the Grey Cup last night was a blast from the past I did not need. Nothing like a little Burris action in Champaign while Soldier was getting remodeled back in 2002. Weird stuff.
