Malcolm Butler’s Superbowl Play Is Even More Impressive Now that We See He’s A Future HOF’er

I know what people are thinking. Pres how could anything make Malcolm Butler’s game saving interception any more impressive than it already was. I mean it was already the biggest play in the history of the superbowl. It was the biggest play in the biggest moment of the biggest game on the biggest stage. All of that is true. But the Superbowl is littered with guys who came up with a huge fluke play and then disappeared or toiled the rest of their careers in obscurity. The Larry Browns and David Tyrees of the world. Guys you wouldn’t recognize walking down the street. Well little did we know at the time that Malcolm Butler’s play was just the first glimpse into his brilliance. Little did we know Malcom Butler would be better this year than Darrelle Revis was last year. That he would be putting guys like Odell Beckham Jr in his back pocket this season. It’s almost like when Brady won his first superbowl. We didn’t exactly know what we had on our hands yet. Now we look back and say that was the beginning of Brady’s legacy. I think we’ll do the same with Malcolm Butler.
