Dion Lewis Officially Done For The Year With A Torn ACL

No doubt this sucks. Lewis has been one of the more exciting players on football all season, delivering a highlight reel play almost every time he touches the ball. At 5’8″ and 180 he’s also been outstanding against the rush (he had an unreal blitz pickup on Keenan Robinson yesterday). But people are losing their minds over this, crying all over Twitter and acting like the season is over. Really? Are you the same people who thought the Pats wouldn’t be able to replace Ridley or Vereen? This changes nothing. The train to San Francisco rolls on. The methylamine keeps flowing. As long as Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski have full use of their limbs then absolutely nothing is different. Brandon Bolden will step up. James White will step up. Maybe someone we’ve never heard of will step up, I don’t know. But to worry or think that this will have a serious affect on the Patriots is lunacy. Again, it sucks. I completely agree. Grabbing Lewis off the scrap heap and turning him into one of the NFL’s best backs has been an awesome storyline this year and he’s been a joy to watch. But does this have me anywhere near a panic button? Most certainly not.

PS – Lewis is pretty lucky signed that five million dollar extension as a thank you to the Pats for taking a chance on him.
