The Sign Outside Netflix Headquarters Got Tagged With "Netflix and Chill"

Mashable- The phrase “Netflix and Chill” is officially out of control. One lone, Internet-savvy individual took it upon themselves to graffiti a sign at the Netflix headquarters in Los Gatos, California with “and chill” earlier this week. The popular phrase started as a colloquialism for just hanging out and eating food, has since evolved into a euphemism for low-key sex, as demonstrated by this line of “Netflix and Chill” condoms. While the graffiti was likely removed within a few hours, one indisputable fact remains: This is probably the best free ad campaign Netflix could have asked for.

This might not make any sense but I bet Netflix as a company looks at the “Netflix and Chill” movement the same way the NHL looks at fighting in hockey. From the outside looking in, neither of those are great things t0 be associated with. In the current sports climate where all the talk is about concussions concussions concussions it’s probably not a great look for a sport to still have an aspect of it where guys are allowed to pound each others heads repeatedly until one guy drops to the ground covered in blood. Just like I’m sure Netflix doesn’t love being associated with terminology that directly translates to, “Hey you wanna come over and fuck?” But the NHL has to sneaky love being associated with fighting just like Netflix has to sneaky love the “Netflix and Chill” movement.  Because people love watching people fight. It’s that simple. It brings in casual viewers. I’m not a big hockey guy but the main reason I’ve ever gone to any games is because a fight might break out. And Netflix has to love “Netflix and Chill” because it is straight up free advertising. Even if that means getting hit with graffiti on HQ’s sign. I’m not even sure it’s quantifiable but it has to worth a fuck ton. The kids can’t stop saying it.

That all made sense in my head.

Kinda related but not really at all. Did anybody else play the Dreamcast game Jet Grind Radio once upon a time?  Where you’d go around on skates and just spray paint shit? I loved that game. To this day I don’t totally know what plot was or why you had to spray paint stuff but I had a goddamn blast doing it.
