It’s tough to blame a sweep where your team never held a lead on one single player, so that’s not what I’m going to do right now, but this quote is just perfect. I still for the life of me don’t understand why the Cubs went with Jason Hammel in the playoffs. Dan Haren may not have the stuff he once did but at least he’s a gamer and a guy who can will himself into a decent playoff start. Jason Hammel on the other hand flat out sucked, he said it right here. To start two games, pitch 4.1 innings and give up 7 total earned runs, disgusting. Pay for the pitching this offseason, hold on to all your hitters and move forward. Nothing against Hammel personally but Kyle Hendricks should be the Cubs 5th starter next year, while 3 and 4 aren’t currently on the roster.
