Italy's Top Court Rules That It's Okay For People To Watch Porn At Work During Lunch

The Local- Italy’s top court has ruled that an employee of Fiat did nothing wrong when he watched porn films during his lunch break, and so could not be sacked. The Court of Cassation turned down an appeal from Italy’s iconic carmaker to fire the man, who works at a factory in Termini Imerese, a town near Palermo in Sicily, arguing that he had done nothing wrong, LiveSicilia reported. The judicial process got underway in 2010, when a court in Termini Imerese initially found the man guilty. That verdict was overturned by Palermo’s court of appeal, whose ruling was upheld by the Court of Cassation on Wednesday. The man had argued that his porn viewing was limited to merely “catching a glimpse” of a film during his lunch break. As there was no evidence of the habit seeping into his normal working hours, the Court of Cassation ruled he had done nothing wrong. But there was victory for Fiat in a separate case on the same day, with the top court ruling that the company was within its rights to sack a worker who smoked cannabis during his lunch break.

I do not agree.  I do not agree whatsoever with this ruling and I’ll tell you why. Inside every person there are two versions of yourself.  Normal You and Porn You. Porn You needs to stay as far away from the workplace as humanly possible. He’s a menace. He’s not fit to be living amongst society. It’s the exact same concept of Independent George and Relationship George in Seinfeld. Normal You says hello to every person in the office every morning.  Normal You wears a dress shirt, holds the door for people and is extremely polite. Your co-workers know you as Normal You and expect Normal You to walk through those doors Monday through Friday.  9am-5pm. But as soon as you allow Porn You to infiltrate the walls of your workplace it’s all over.  People will never look at you the same. They will be shocked and horrified once they see what Porn You is capable of. Just think about how much of a monster you are when you watch porn. I know I am. Pants at my ankles, grunting incoherently, clicking through YouJizz page after YouJizz page, looking up abhorrent terms in the search bar just so I can bust a nut. It’s a madhouse and Porn Me is the owner. Nobody wants or needs to see that.

That version of myself shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near other humans. He belongs locked in a cage (or my apartment) and only allowed to come out once a day so I can knock off some stress. It’s shocking that Italy’s top court doesn’t see that. Another part of this is I straight up wouldn’t want to know my co-workers porn preferences.  Jim in Accounting seems like a normal, nice dude until Porn Jim comes barreling through the door searching for videos of Asian women eating used pantyhose or some shit. Some things just need to be separate. Porn and the workplace is one of those things.

Weed You and Normal You aren’t all that different.  In all honesty, Weed You is probably cooler, more fun and more pleasant to be around. Let the people smoke.
