Mac and Cheese Bro Issues A YouTube Apology

Like I said, I’m done with Mac and Cheese bro, at least until the next time he’s in the news for assaulting people and yelling racial slurs at them. But figured I at least owed him the chance to get his apology out there. Both sides of the story, old journalism thing.

Love the statement from the dad. Deflect much?

Vincent Gatti said does not expect to be in court Tuesday. “We have filed for a continuance,” Vincent Gatti said, adding that his son and his family are “fearful of how terribly out of control this has gotten.”

Gatti said his son uploaded the apology Sunday to express his remorse. He described his son several times as having done something terribly wrong. “He’s a kid that made a bad mistake,” Vincent Gatti said. “My son was wrong and feels terrible about this.”

Vincent Gatti said his family has “been hit with a barrage of yelling, screaming, cursing, obnoxious, horrible, hateful, spiteful people berating me and my son for screaming and cursing and berating a stranger. There’s been a world full of people doing exactly what my son did and feeling justified in doing so.”

Gatti said he is not deflecting responsibility for his son’s conduct, but said he found it ironic that people were so quick to inflict on him and his family what they seem to dislike in his son’s conduct. “That’s really a sad state,” he said, adding that the threats and insults have come “repeatedly and in alarmingly large numbers.” [Courant]

Also, correction:

*”He’s a kid that made a bad mistake 3 bad mistakes.”

Apparently Phillips Street, alcohol, Luke Gatti and late night weekends, make for a bad combination. Perhaps because he’s only 18-years-old, but still no excuse for such outlandish behavior.

Arrested two weeks ago on Phillips Street for disorderly conduct (which included calling a detective the N-word), this time around Mr. Gatti seemed to go out of his way to get arrested yet again on that same notorious street, and when taken back to the police station, assaulted an officer.

Noting the arrest only two weeks ago Judge Payne said to Gatti, “I’m a little concerned you’re going to pull a trifecta before the month is over.” [Amherst]

Some call that a trend.
