Cole Hamels Pitched A Gem Of A CG To Clinch The AL West But, Hey, At Least The Phillies Didn't Lose 100 Games!

Silver linings! Cole Hamels, Chase Utley, Ben Revere, Jake Diekman, and Jimmy Rollins (sorry Papsmear) are all heading to the playoffs. Good for them. But did they know their former Phillies won their final game of the season to clinch the 99 loss mark? Believe it! Worst record since 1969 baby!

Hey, at least this team isn’t rearranging chairs on the deck of the Titanic anymore circa 2012-2014. The ship has been at the bottom of the ocean and we’re working on a new one, it’ll just take time, I guess. But how come the Cardinals, Dodgers, Rangers, Giants, and Yankees have been able to sustain consistent success over the past decade while the Phillies just pissed everything away? We all know the answer, but still, this shit sucks. And it’s not going to get any easier as the Cubs, Pirates, and Mets are chocked full of young bucks in the NL.

I’m waiting to see if I hate this team.
