Amber Rose Breaks Down While Giving A Speech At The LA Slut Walk

Complex – Over the weekend, Amber Rose held her SlutWalk event in Los Angeles that empowered women to be comfortable with their sexual freedom, protested against sexism and helped spread awareness about abuse. Rose had a moment to speak to her supporters about a personal experience of being slut-shamed as a teen. She continued her story by mentioning two of her high profile relationships with ex-boyfriend Kanye West and her former husbandWiz Khalifa. As many of us saw on social media, Rose’s mom turned West’s “30 Showers” remark into a message of self-empowerment. During her speech, she got teary-eyed when explaining different incidents of slut-shaming by the two people she loved. She says of her relationship with West:

“Unfortunately, I was extremely slut shamed. I was called ‘nothing but a stripper.’ [He said] why would he ever be interested in me, I’m just a bald-head stripper from Philly. I was a golddigger; apparently he had to take 30 showers after being with me. That’s what he said. I guess that just washed all my sexy bald-headedness off of his ass.”

When Rose moved on to Wiz, she addresses a lyric he rapped about her on Juicy J’s “For Everybody” that said, “Man, I fell in love with a stripper / Funny thing is I fell back out of love quicker.” She elaborated:

“In the midst of being hurt – if anyone had been going through a separation, or have ever been divorced, you know there’s a lot of feelings involved and it’s a very difficult time. He went on to make a song saying that he ‘fell in love with a stripper, but fell out of love quicker.’ As you can imagine, him being the love of my life, regardless if we’re going through a separation or not, that was extremely hurtful.”

At the end of the video, she forgave West and Khalifa for their negative comments. She also encouraged the audience to do the same because she felt you’ll be a better person in the end. Watch her whole speech above.

So Amber Rose is like Head Slut right? Shes like the Leader of the Sluts. Shes an ex stripper who bangs rappers and always flaunt her ass and is constantly naked. Thats like CEO level sluttiness. Or you could be a virgin but march around in parades in lingerie talking about sex constantly and I’m gonna call you a slut. Its pretty simple stuff. The way you dress and behave have repercussions. Plain and simple. You have to wear certain clothes to work so that people have a certain perception of you, right? Well its the same thing in real life here. You have to dress a certain way if you want to be treated a certain way. Every day you wake up is not Halloween. You don’t get to dress like a total whore and expect people to wait until they know you to judge you. Certain clothing, certain looks, certain behavior has stigma attached to it. And getting up on stage in lingerie talking about penises in your face when you were 14 and being a stripper and all the rappers you fucked – well thats just gonna get a lot of people calling you a slut.

Is it right? Probably not. Do I care? Definitely not. Congratulations that you like to fuck, girl. A bazillion other people do too, but they dont go out of their way to call attention to it and flaunt it in everyone’s face in their daily life. Its like these sluts are begging for attention and the minute they get it, they freak out about it.
