Kmarko's DraftKings Picks - September 11th

KMARKO-HR

Going to make this one quick because I know what’s on everyone’s mind – football. Spent most of my time working on that post today, but there’s still money to be made in baseball and I’ll be running out a couple of lineups tonight, so let’s jump into real quick.

Last night recap – total washout. 2 games rained out and 1 long delay. On a 6 game slate that’s a killer. Hope people used my Brantley pick (2 bombs, hellooo) and paid enough attention to the weather to squeeze some cash out of it.

The fact I was able to cash with these two scores shows just how messed up everyone was by the weather.

Fuck rain.

Anyway, on to tonight –

PITCHERS

-Keuchel, Archer, Price – who do you want to spend on? I’d say Keuchel is the safest and Price has the highest upside with the highest risk (he’s not great against the Yankees). Archer has some upside of his own, but the Red Sox limit strikeouts and have been scary on offense lately.

-Severino – too much $$ for the matchup

-Locked and loaded on Steven Matz tonight. Hope he can squeak some strikeouts out of the Braves for some extra upside, but I like his 20-25 point safety at this price point.

-Iwakuma is worth a look at the same price point with less safety but arguably more upside getting the Rockies.

-Mid tier and value plays are a crapshoot – I’d take a look at Charlie Morton, Jake Peavy and Robbie Ray…yeah, it made me nauseous typing that. Personally I think I’ll pay up at pitcher tonight for the big options, but if you’re feeling lucky go for one of these guys and close your eyes.

HITTERS

OF Mark Canha $4.2K

Kind of an off the board play here that I never see any of the experts talk about or write up, but a guy I love putting in my lineups lately. Check his game log – Mark Canha is on fire batting out of the 2 hole, and has another great matchup tonight. Of course now that I’ve publicly acknowledged him I’m sure he’ll go 0-4 tonight, but still. The Rangers/As game has the highest total on the board by a full run and I like Canha as my way to get exposure to it.

The Rangers actually have the highest offensive total going tonight, over 5 runs – but who do we even take from their lineup? I hate playing Prince Fielder because he always disappoints, Odor has been hot and cold, Moreland is boom or bust. Maybe Soo Choo is your best bet?

VALUE PLAYS

1B Lucas Duda $3.4K

While the Rangers are technically the best offense to target tonight, my personal favorite is the Mets. Everybody knows how hot they’ve been, and ever since I watched this Wisler dude pitch live, I love targeting hitters against him. The usual suspects are all in play here – Cespedes of course, Granderson, Conforto, D’Arnaud. But I’m gonna take a shot on Duda. He’s been injured, hasn’t gone deep in forever, but I have a gut feeling he gives us a classic 2 bomb performance tonight, don’t ask me why. (I’m not officially predicting that BTW, I’d be perfectly happy with a 3 RBI double and 12-15 points at this price. Let’s not get greedy people.)

OF Trayce Thompson $3.2K

Probably my most random collection of picks ever right? Two guys most people have never heard of and an ice cold Lucas Duda. Hey I’ve been cold lately, trying to switch things up. Love Thompson tonight against Ervin Santana in another game with a high total. He’s sooo cheap with so much upside that there’s no reason I won’t be taking a shot on him.

Trayce Thompson is out tonight.

Possible OF pivots: Justin Ruggiano, Scott Van Slyke.

Hit me up @kmarkobarstool with your big plays of the night and let’s get rich together, also be sure to check weather and lineups to make sure these guys are good to do.
