The Chicago Tribune Announces The Start Of "Meaningful Baseball" With Some Nice Publicity From Cy Young Pitcher Jake Arrieta
Well this is foreign. The last time the clock struck September 1st with meaningful baseball on deck was 7 years ago. Every fall in the past half decade plus has been about the 40 man roster expanding and a look at our young guys. Now it’s the 40 man roster expanding and what young guys can help us win now, namely Javy Baez hopefully playing second and avoiding these type of things from the President and CEO of the #0Haters club
And man does it feel good. There is nothing like that turnover from Summer to Fall when your baseball team is still in it. Not to get poetic but it really is a magical time. Games get tighter, the weather gets crisper, and everything seems perfect. No matter what happens these next 4 weeks I will always remember this Cubs season. People keep asking me if it’s a bust and failure if the Cubs lose a 1 game playoff. Hell no. Of course it would be heartbreaking but this season has been special and the Cubs have blown through all of my expectations. I was going to be happy with a .500 season, truly happy, and now we’re talking about meaningful baseball in September. Buckle up.
*Limited edition because he sucked last year and struck out 10 billion times and no one bought the shirts. That’s limited edition right?
