Prayers Up for TreVeyon Henderson, Who's Gone Public About the Neurological Symptoms He's Been Struggling With
There's been a lot of talk this season about TreVeyon Henderson, not much of it positive. Especially for a guy who planted his spear into the NFL ground in such spectacular fashion and was drawing universal praise:
But so far this year, something has been ... off, with Henderson. It's been unmistakable. I can confirm that Hogdale, Mut and I have all been very consistent with our shared frustration with him during our Dirty Water episodes.
And for good reason. Now is not the time to get lost in the weeds of numbers, but rather just to point out there's been an obvious dropoff in his production and performance after his 1,132-yards from scrimmage, 9 TDs rookie season.
Now we have an answer. And without a doubt, it falls into the broad all-encompassing category that is "Bigger Than Football.":
It goes without saying how serious this is. This is a man who just turned 24 a couple of weeks ago. Who seems to have hit the Life Lottery, with a wife and a brilliant career ahead of him. A fan favorite for whom the cliche', "He's a threat to score every time he touches the ball," is no mere platitude. Note that I'm keeping this all in the present tense, because it's far too soon to declare he doesn't. And because hope is a better strategy than despair every time it's tried.

After all, the "comprehensive" medical tests have come back "positive and reassuring." Which is obviously good to hear. But the thing is, if you've ever known someone who's dealing with a mysterious aliment that has yet to be identified, there's a natural frustration that comes with the doctors telling them what it's NOT. Because they still feel the same symptoms. In Henderson's case, his strength, coordination and physical functions. And often in that situation, it's not comforting to still be in the dark about what's causing it. Even as you try to take comfort in them ruling out certain things that might be too horrible to bear. You just want answers.
What we do know for sure is the least important part of all of this: Why he hasn't been playing like his 2025 self.
And what we learned from this statement is the most important part. TreVeyon Henderson is a man of enormous strength of character and limitless faith. Two things he's going to need as he goes through this process. Godspeed to him and his family. Here's looking forward to a clean bill of health, plus more of this in 2027 and beyond:
