SHOCKING (But Pretty Funny) CCTV Footage of a Pedestrian on The Sidewalk Being Struck By Rogue Car Tire

I have a hard-and-fast rule that anytime I see a video that makes me audibly laugh, even if that laugh is nothing more than a swift exhale from my nose, I blog it. As long as I need something to blog that day. Preferably not on weekends. Not that I never blog on the weekend, but like... It's a random 19-year-old dude in Santiago, Chile, being hit by a tire. I think the world will survive if that waits until Monday.

Anyways, where the hell did that tire come from? Was it Donkey Kong? Or one of the enemy primates, specifically from the 1994 Super Nintendo classic Donkey Kong Country? No... that wouldn't make sense. As I recall, tires didn't typically hurt you in that game. Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong pushed them around with their noses and used them for bouncing.

Mankey Kong was the enemy orangutan who would hang out in the trees and throw barrels at Donkey and Diddy. Mankey Kong had infinite barrels. He'd pull 'em out of his ass and just keep on chuckin'. Like this:

Damn… if only Mankey Kong threw tires, then this bad photoshop would make a lot more sense.

In reality, the runaway tire detached from a moving vehicle and bounced off two parked cars before busting into frame and bonking that poor Chilean boy on the noggin. He's fine, by the way. Aside from some trouble moving his arm, a little bit of head blood, and somehow multiple concussions.

NY Post – The young man “had some trouble moving his arm and had a little blood on his head,” the eyewitness added.

Another witness added that the victim was clearly dazed by the impact, “Like when you have these dizzy spells. He couldn’t stand up.”

The victim, who has not been identified, suffered multiple contusions, but “is out of serious condition,” local mayor Jaime Bellolio told the press.

Can you suffer multiple concussions from a single blow? There must have been one from the tire, and one from the concrete. I'm glad he's out of serious condition, but honestly, I didn't think that looked terribly serious on first watch. It was more funny than scary. But that tire did a number on him.

Get well soon, pal. Keep your head on a swivel. Mankey Kong could be anywhere. If he lives anywhere, it's probably South America.
