Loosest of Lips: Nobody Loves To Leak Stories To The Media Quite Like The Philadelphia Eagles

It seems like we're good for at least one Jalen Hurts hit piece to come out every year. But due to his health circumstances this year, Jalen Hurts isn't currently playing football. The Eagles are an absolute disaster at the moment, and the team needs to find someone to shift the blame towards. They can't just run the same "Jalen Hurts is difficult to play with and refuses to make adjustments to his game" play that they've been throwing out to the media the last few years.

Before Jalen Hurts, it was the same thing with Carson Wentz being a bad teammate who seems visibly disappointed when the Eagles won the Super Bowl because he wasn't the one to actually get the job done. The fact of the matter here is that every time the Eagles go through some level of adversity, there always seems to be a new report thrown out there to the media by an anonymous source. As soon as shit starts to hit the fan, there is always a story that shifts the blame and distracts from everything that is taking place on the field.

We now have our newest leak, which deals with Jeff Stoutland's departure from the Eagles coaching staff after being regarded as one of the best offensive line gurus over the last 12-13 years.

So there are now two options for how this all played out. Option 1) Nick Sirianni is an absolute dope who managed to squeeze the most important coach the Eagles have had over the last decade+ out the door. Or Option 2) the players run the locker room and are the ones calling the shots.

Neither one of those options is good, by the way. No matter what, it would appear that the Eagles are a highly dysfunctional team. They either have an idiot for a coach, or there was a power vacuum in the Eagles locker room and the players were the ones who filled that void. And the way it usually goes when it comes to stories coming from anonymous sources, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle. It probably isn't just Option 1 or Option 2. It was most likely Option 3) All of the above.

But here's the thing--whatever the reason was behind Jeff Stoutland being removed as the run game coordinator doesn't actually matter. It's the fact that these leaks are getting out there right now which is the real issue. Because the Eagles have shown now for multiple years that they have a serious issue when it comes to leaks. They have a real problem keeping everything in house once there are a few bumps in the road. And that's the sign of a bad team. Loose lips sink ships, and the Eagles are barely even have a cabin door to float on right now.

Is it Howie? Is it Nick Sirianni? Is it Big Dom, or one of the other random assistants the Eagles have standing around on the sideline? Could it even go as high up as Jeffrey Lurie? Who knows where the leak is coming from, but it's about to bring down the whole goddamn house.
