Republicans May Never Lose Another Congressional Baseball Game Again Now That Mark Teixeira Can Play
The doomers will tell you that Tuesday night was disastrous for the Republican Party. And if all you want to focus on in life are the negatives, then that's pretty true.
But what they won't tell you is that three-time All-Star, three-time Silver Slugger and five-time Gold Glove winner Mark Teixeira won the U.S. House seat in the Texas 21st District and will now presumably be in the three hole for the Republicans in next summer's Congressional Baseball Game.
Can you imagine Tex stepping into the box — using a metal bat — with some congressman from Vermont on the bump? Everyone on the field just needs to pray he gets the launch angle right and hits a nuke out of Nationals Park rather than a frozen rope at somebody's head.
Republicans currently hold a five-game winning streak and won last year's contest 13-2. Sure, they lost every single critical race across the country and may even have given Mississippi a Democrat in the Senate. But was it all worth it to get some incredible clips of Mark Teixeira teeing off in the Congressional Baseball Game? Maybe.
