TEAM HUMAN – Woman Arrested After Going Full Dante The Don by Preventing Food Delivery Robots From Delivering Food

I've fully come around to being an advocate for Team Human. Not that I was ever team anything else. But I wasn't necessarily willing to be on the front lines. I saw the robots as a threat, but not enough of a threat to get me ALL THE WAY up off my couch, to my laptop, then back to my couch to write a TEAM HUMAN blog about them.

My point is, the robots are starting to scare me. Just a little bit. And when I say "robots", I'm including all of AI under that same umbrella. Honestly, AI is what really scares me. But AI doesn't always have a face. I can't take a baseball bat to Claude's face without destroying my own personal property. I can't tip ChatGPT over on the sidewalk the way Dante The Don once did to a delivery robot in Chicago. Credit to Dante, he really seems to have scrubbed that video from the internet. But there WAS a time when a video of Dante The Don tipping over a food delivery robot on the streets of Chicago existed. He tipped over one of these guys.

Everybody called Dante an asshole for it because he was ruining the lunch of a human on the other end of that delivery. But one human's lunch is a small price to pay. Realistically, there is no reason any restaurant or third-party delivery service should have to rely on human delivery drivers for much longer. The technology is there to completely replace them with robots. They only haven't done it yet because they're afraid of the backlash. If every human Uber Eats delivery driver lost their job overnight, there would be outrage. But if humans are replaced little by little, it's not quite as noticeable. Next thing we know, we'll look up, and our sidewalks will be this:

I don't even think delivery robots, and… idk, whatever other types of robots exist, are always a bad thing. I don't want to be entierly closeminded. I believe there's a place for them in society if we assimilate them responsibly. The mission of Team Human doesn't necessarily have to be "KILL ALL ROBOTS".

But we don't have to make life easy for them either. We're allowing robots and AI to assimilate into our lives with WAY less resistance than we welcomed… say… black people (humans), or nowadays, immigrants (humans) of any sort. Humans vs Robots doesn't have to be a zero-sum game. But we can at least make it difficult on them. And because they're robots… and they don't have feelings… we don't even have to feel morally bad about it.

Seriously… don't us people of the world need a common enemy now more than ever? Without getting too much on my hippie-ass, love-one-another bullshit, there is so much fucking hate out there right now. And it's not just the cartoonishly racist or brainwashed political takes you see on Twitter. The anger comes out in the weirdest ways. You can barely talk college football online without having somebody jump down your throat. Just ask Brandon Walker. He's up to his eyeballs in death threats on a weekendly basis, and all he did was call every college football fanbase in America fraudulent cowards.

People are mad, and that anger has to go somewhere. Why not direct it to AI, and the god damn robots like this Team Human woman did just the other day.

Dexerto – A woman who repeatedly blocks self-driving delivery robots was arrested for refusing to let an Uber Eats machine pass.

On October 14, Marvin encountered an Uber Eats robot near Philadelphia’s Reading Terminal Market, while returning home from a flu shot appointment. She decided to stand in its path until a crowd gathered and police were called to the scene.

Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department were made aware of a criminal mischief incident involving a robot. They ordered Marvin to move and she repeatedly refused, leading them to issue her with a disorderly conduct citation.

We can even make up our own slurs for the robots. Wouldn't that be fun? Slurs we can ALL rally around? I'm just saying… the use of robots and AI is becoming more prevalent every day. There's probably nothing we can do to stop it. But we can at least make things more difficult for them. We could unite as people over a common enemy. You don't have to pummel every delivery robot you see the way these fine gentlemen did.

We don't all have to take our employers to court over our bosses telling us we HAVE to use AI at work, because technically the mandated use of AI violates our First Amendment rights, and as a HUMANIST, forcing us to use AI is actually violating our freedom of religion.

We don't all have to do that (although that Kentucky professor was pretty creative there with his use of Constitution to fight AI… well done, dude). But consider the actions of the person filming in this next video. This man represented Team Human with aplomb.

And if the occasional good samaritan wants to put a little more oomph into things, and risk being arrested, well… more power to them. Keep up the good work, Team Human. Fuck the delivery robots. I know they're going to have a place in society whether I like it or not, but the more we make things difficult for them, the longer it will take. Maybe we can at least prolong the end of the world until after our death.
