This Official Took Out an ECU Player With an Insane Slide Tackle

Imagine putting on your pads to go play a college football game, knowing the guys doing the same thing in the other locker room will be doing their absolute best to inflict pain — and whatever injury may be downstream of that — upon you every snap. You get in the headspace necessary to go out there and put yourself in that line of fire ... only to be taken out by a rogue official.

What is this ref doing? The play is over, yet he's still sprinting in for some reason and then goes into a ferocious slide tackle that would make even the most reticent of soccer officials give a red card.

I understand this was obviously a terrible accident, but that official owes ECU coach Blake Harrell about two minutes of just standing in front of him and taking an ass chewing if Harrell so desires. What a brutal way to lose a starter.
