Minka Kelly Dropping A 'Texas Forever' In 2026 Is The Perfect Reminder That Friday Night Lights Is A Great Show And She's Still Got It
Here I am minding my own business scrolling around, looking for stuff to blog, you know, work stuff. Then I stumble on Minka Kelly dropping a Texas Forever in the year 2026. It did two things for me:
1) Remind me that Friday Night Lights is one of the better TV shows we've had in the last 20 years
2) Prove she's still got it
Minka Kelly is 46 years old! 46! She came into our lives as Lyla Garrity and that's where we will start. Mostly because I can't stop thinking about the storylines with Buddy being a booster with all the shit going on sports this year. There could 100% be a reboot around Buddy being a booster for Coach Taylor in college or some Texas college and building a monster. That guy was ahead of his time.
And don't get me wrong, the movie is better than the show, but the show fucking rules. You had a little bit of everything with terrible storylines (we know the season 2 writer strike, but what the hell happened to Voodoo or the linebacker Santiago?), future stars with basically everyone on the show. Every game apparently coming down to a Hail Mary or last second score was a nice touch too.
But people can't stop talking about Minka Kelly. From Derek Jeter to being the crush of everyone, it hasn't stopped. So, yeah, Texas Forever.
