“Remember When You Were on That Horse Shit Yankee team. Everyone Playing For Themselves.” World Series Champion Pat Murphy Decided To Take a Shot At The Yankees For The Laughing Stock That They've Become

Ah whaddya know it’s time for the Yankees’ annual humiliation ritual to continue on its way. This go around it’s the Brewers taking shots, specifically their manager Pat Murphy. And he's 100% right.

Nothing of what he’s saying here to former Yankee Jake Bauers is false. The culture that Murphy created in that clubhouse is that of the old school way. It’s what you saw out of the Joe Torre Yankees. The Jeter days. Back when you held people in a clubhouse accountable. Back when the standard was showing up every day, making sure you did your job and didn’t let your teammates down towards the goal of winning a championship. Where you check your ego at the door and do everything every single day to win it all.

After winning it all you had Yelich join the FOX guys at the desk, talking about the clubhouse mentality where no matter who you are, you feel the responsibility to pull your own. Doesn’t matter if it’s April, the middle of the summer, or October. When that mindset is everyday it becomes involuntary like a heartbeat.

Murphy during the postgame conversation talked about how he’s not always going to be liked by the players and that’s okay because he knows his method will pay off down the road. He may bench you mid-game and tick you off, but it’s to help show no one is above anyone in that clubhouse and if you don’t hold up your end of the bargain you’ll be disciplined.

All of this felt like one collected dig at the Yankees. One continued twist of the knife into my stomach as I bleed out watching another team laugh at us.

Listen to Hal talk about public accountability and what he thinks of the old school way of managing a team. It's legit the opposite of the current World Series champions.

It’s hard to believe how lost they are. To call Boone a manager feels awfully generous at this point. He’s a camp counselor, with the primary objective of keeping everyone happy. Winning it all feels far from a priority now, regardless of what they tell you. 90+ wins, wildcard victory, and positive clubhouse vibes. That’s the new Yankee way. Hal, Cash, and Boone are going to look at that Murphy quote and scoff at it, believing their way is correct and it'd be moronic to change anything. That's how Boone is back for a 10th year. Cashman just re-upped for 3 more and has been here all century. They're stubborn and stupid, the worst combination you can have. As for the Brewers, they're champions and they can say whatever the fuck they want.
