FAMILY FIRST: Willson Contreras Rocking His Brother's Jersey In The Crowd And Getting Emotional Watching He And The Brewers Win The World Series Was An Awesome Moment
On Wednesday's excellent episode of Sports Central, we talked about all these ex-Rays players returning to Tampa to support their former team in the World Series. Guys like Tyler Glasnow, who pitches for and is paid by the LA Dodgers, going back to the Trop to cheer on their old team.
Former players who are now retired - I get it. But Glasnow (Dodgers)...Pete Fairbanks (Marlins)...Zach Eflin (Orioles)... these guys still play and are paid by other teams. It's a bad look. It's weird.
This ain't the big homecoming game for your high school football team - this is professional sports.
I said on the show that I'd be annoyed if, say, Caleb Durbin was celebrating a Brewers World Series. He was on the team last year before being traded to the Red Sox.
As a Red Sox fan, yeah, that would annoy me.
This doesn't annoy me at all. This is fucking great stuff.

Willson flew in from Hawaii to support his brother as he and the Brewers tried to cap off a historic season.
They became just the 10th set of brothers in baseball history to win the World Series. And William was a huge impact player, winning the MVP.
Willson didn't just go nuts in the stands; he got down to the field to celebrate with his MVP-winning brother.

He's not wearing the jersey to support the Brewers - he's there to support his brother.
ZERO problem with this. Love it. This isn't Randy Arozarena sitting behind home plate cheering on his old team while that Seattle Mariners direct deposit hits his account.
Safe to say Willson is not a huge fan of the Brewers. He has his run-ins with them during his time in the NL Central. He's actually been hit by a pitch six times by the Brewers over the years, including this one earlier this season at Fenway.
But family first, so he was there to support his brother Wednesday Night.

Congrats to William and the Brewers. Enjoy it. And good for Willson for being there to support his brother.
I don't know if he'll get any World Series merch, but the Barstool Store has some 🔥🔥🔥 stuff.
