Team of Destiny Fulfilled: Dominant From Start To Finish, The Milwaukee Brewers Win Their First World Series Title In Franchise History And Etch Their Name As One Of The Best Teams Of This Century

That sound right there is destiny fulfilled. For the first time ever the Milwaukee Brewers are World Series Champs. 103 regular season wins. Defeated a good Padres team in four tight games. Swept the two-time defending champion Dodgers with ease. Dismantled the Rays. This is so well deserved in every way.

The Brewers offense scored the second most runs in baseball this year despite not needing the home run ball at all. One through nine they chopped you down, worked counts, and drove runners in at will. Their starting pitching led by the runaway NL Cy Young winner Jacob Misiorowski was lockdown.

The bullpen, featuring an army of guys who throw 100 mph, rarely let any lead slip away. And then in the postseason all of that ramped up to a level no one could match. They were invincible. A team that refused to be denied. They would welcome going down early with open arms. This team somehow finished the season above .500 when they weren't the first team to score a run in a game. That's insane!

Led by their fearless leader Pat Murphy, the Brewers all bought in with everyone pulling the same rope. No one in that clubhouse was above another. Murphy built a culture where zero egos would be welcomed. He managed a roster full of humble, hungry guys who would constantly give their all and demand the best out of each and every one of their teammates.

It's a remarkable feat from a small market franchise that has said good bye to several prominent names in recent years. They don't go out and acquire the big names, instead they trust their secret sauce and build from within at a success rate that feels impossible. Skubal was there for the taking at the deadline and Milwaukee passed, believing that what they had was plenty enough. They were right. Not only that, but they're set up for years to come with a powerhouse farm system. A lot of this core is young, especially Chourio and Miz. There's no reason they shouldn't be competing for every World Series to come in the next five or so years, maybe even more.

You could give the World Series MVP to a bunch of guys like Chourio, Pratt, and Miz, but William Contreras takes home the hardware. Not only did he come through with his bat going 8 for 21 in the series, but he shut down Tampa's run game and made a number of successful challenges behind the plate. Dude is going to get PAID.

Look at the way the fans back in Milwaukee celebrated the final out. All of the beer is about to be gone.

I'm so happy for Yelich man. He dealt with a number of injuries in the past and experience failure here in Milwaukee, but he came through with some big hits this postseason to help them win this thing.
