JACKED UP! – High School Soccer Ref Gets Blown Up By Player Who Was NOT HAPPY With The Red Card

Not good! We may have just witnessed the end of a budding young soccer career. He might have been America's Messi. Now we'll never know. We'll have to wait to see if the 3-year-old who had the cops called on him for being too good having super annoying parents pans out.

On the bright side, the referee isn't dead. And if you're a young, violent, prone-to-rage athlete, and you're going to do something psychotic like lay out a referee... well, at least this player got his money's worth.

You'd love to know exactly what happened here. The original player who goes hurdling into the goalie's chest... that was a bad piece of business in its own right. The goalie was fully stretched out, feet off the ground, arms reaching high to secure the ball. He was utterly defenseless.

At first, I thought the hatted-up official had let it go entirely. On second, third, and fourth watch, if you follow the player from the time he smokes the keeper, it does appear the ref was trying to stop him for a conversation. Maybe he was about to issue a yellow card. Maybe he had settled on a blistering verbal warning. Either way, the player was none too interested in a chat. He must have said something cutting as he breezed by, because the referee's attitude changed drastically right about here.

To be honest, it was a perfectly executed one-two-boom by the player who received the red card and his insane teammate. One player crashes the net hard, putting himself squarely in the referee's crosshairs. In passing, it looks like he says… something. Perhaps it was a slur. Maybe something about his mom. Or maybe he said nothing at all. Maybe all it took was ignoring the official's authority to draw his full attention. And as the ref is focused on red carding his ass into oblivion, Terry Tate Soccer Linebacker comes screaming across the pitch to blindside him with a BOOMING (but also kind of slow motion) crackback shot.

The player does run away like a coward afterward. I mean… everything about running full-speed and dropping your shoulder into a completely unsuspecting person is cowardly. But at least stand over him for a second. I don't think an "Oops! Let me hustle out of here real quick!" is going to save him in the eyes of the league. Or the eyes of the school. Or the eyes of the court. Surely he'll be subjected to some sort of hearing over this incident, whether it's about a suspension (or expulsion) from the league, his school, or if he actually faces criminal charges like so many people in the replies so desperately want to see.

I suppose he deserves it, but I always think it's a little weird how gleefully people call for a random internet kid to have the book thrown at him. What about "I hope that whatever happens, he learns his lesson, and finds a way to make up for it later in life."

Lmao I'm just kidding. That would be a preposterous take to have online. Lock him up in Riker's and throw the key in the Hudson River.
