TRUTH HURTS: Paul Pierce "Drowning Financially" And Down To His Last $300k In The Bank After Making $200 Million In The NBA Thanks To $48,000 Monthly Child Support & $12,000 Just For Food

"Pierce says he only has $300k left in the bank despite making $200 million playing in the NBA"

This one really stings to see folks. Turns out the old adage was dead on the money. The Truth HURTS! And this Paul Pierce news hurts even more to see as a Celtics fan. Reminds me how devastating it was to hear about Antoine Walker's financial troubles all those years ago. Although in this case, these expenses from Paul seem way more self inflicted.

(SOURCE) - According to court docs, obtained by TMZ, Paul claims his last check from Fox Sports came in August. He said his average monthly income was $119K, but now it is zero. He said he earned around $23K last month from his partnership interests in other business ventures. Paul is asking the court to shut down his ex-wife Princess Santiago’s request for $40K in legal fees and another $10K for a forensic accountant. She claimed Paul was playing games about his financial records … and wanted an expert to review his finances.

In his filing, Paul's attorney said Paul would have "great difficulty" paying these fees since his Fox Sports contract was terminated … adding that he was "drowning financially" and having trouble keeping up with the monetary obligations. Princess’ request for additional funds came after Paul was ordered to pay Princess $8,508 per month in temporary child support for their son, King. He was also ordered to pay $100K in legal fees.

Spit out my coffee reading his ex-wife's name is Princess and they named their son King? Good job, GOOD effort! But mainly this whole thing just makes me think of that legendary Dril tweet about candles. 2015 was such a great year for the internet. Arguably the last.

Last year, Pierce offered his own theory of marriage: "Marriage is for old people and poor people." In the video below, he explains what he believes happens when a marriage ends. A man, he says, has "to give up half" and "pay child support."

And I imagine telling Paul to cut any of his NECESSARY expenses would elicit the same response. That $7000 per month spent dining out is simply part of the retired baller lifestyle. Gotta find ways to still keep the swag levels high without the allure of the hardwood to fall back on. Sometimes that might mean spending $3500 per month on "entertainment". Again, all necessary expenses for someone trying to live his best next life. Find a new slant!

“I was at my boys birthday party, playing poker and it was girls just dancing… alcohol… a lot of alcohol… Yeah, I lost my job at ESPN over it. You know, we all made some mistakes. Maybe I wouldn’t be on Mars if that didn’t happen. See? things happen for a reason.”

Best of luck to PP figuring out those finances sooner than later. Hurts my Green 17 heart to see him flailing in the wind like this. Midas whale hire him here at Barstool SPORTS and knock two birds with one stone. Not only get him more money for candles & entertainment, but also give us an ex-NBA player who can work with White Chocolate and isn't an irritating piece of shit.

Wouldn't that be cool? Paging Mr. Portnoy… WE CAN HANDLE THE TRUTH!! But either way, thanks for the memories Paul. Hopefully you can nail these court proceedings just like that three ball right in Al Harrington's stupid face. What at time to be alive. I wish there was a way to know you're in the good old days before you've actually left them.
